Elkton Gas Presents $5,000 Check to the Cecil Heating Assistance Program

February 1, 2007

ELKTON, Md. – Feb. 1, 2007 - Elkton Gas Company, a subsidiary of AGL Resources Inc. (NYSE: ATG), announced today that it has provided $5,000 to the Cecil County Heating Assistance Program (CHAP) to assist families who are unable to pay their heating bills.

“Our goal is to provide meaningful financial assistance to households that are facing a heating crisis,” said Candy Davis, Elkton Gas Manager of Operations. “When we partner with the Cecil County Department of Human Services, we are able to reach those in need of emergency heating assistance this winter.”

The Cecil Heating Assistance Program is the local fuel fund for low income residents of Cecil County. The Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) administers the program from November 1, 2006 through March 31, 2007. The OHEP places special emphasis on assisting the elderly, the physically challenged, and those who may not otherwise receive assistance.

“We at Elkton Gas appreciate the staff at the Cecil Department of Human Services,” said Davis. “Elkton Gas is pleased to partner with the Cecil County Department of Human Services to help keep families warm this winter.”

The OHEP works in cooperation with existing heating and social welfare programs to raise CHAP funds locally through direct solicitation to the Cecil County community. Eligible customers receive one benefit amount per heating season. Department of Health and Human Services personnel determine the benefit based on household income and fuel type. The program operates until funds are exhausted or the season closes.
